Each of the stories has a character who is doing their bit to save the planet by taking what could end up in landfills and doing something special with it. Ruby learns from Catriona that some clothes workers are treated badly and have to work in terrible conditions. Up until then, she thought that making new clothes gave jobs to people in poorer countries. In this activity, encourage your pupils to take on the role of eco-heroes, finding ways to reduce waste, recycle, save money and help others. Learning and having information is the first step towards change.
